Balloons and Birthdays

It was my birthday about a week ago, and I was dead set on wearing this dress full of cupcakes. This is probably one of my favorite dresses. It is perfectly obnoxious and girly, but I still usually pair it with sneakers. This way I can still justify wearing it…everywhere. You have got to admit though, it works best as a birthday dress. I went out with all of my friends on the night of. Nick (my guy) planned a nice dinner for just the two of us, then he got a private karaoke room for some of our friends. Finally, we bar hopped around the East Village. It was such a good birthday! I hadn’t really had the opportunity for a big birthday the past few years, I was either in the hospital or in the process of moving. This was a perfect make-up for all of that. Anyway, I just wanted to do something fun with taking photos for this dress so I bought a bunch of balloons and a giant lollipop. After we took some shots, Nick and I gave the balloons out along the promenade. It sounds cute, but I felt like a total creep. It is Manhattan after all…people should be wary of strangers offering to give their kids free stuff (even if that stranger is wearing a cupcake dress).
