If you live in New York, than you know that today is one of the first days in a long while in the season that it was cold enough to warrant a real winter coat. Of course, I could add tights to this look and make it weather-appropriate, but I am really just mourning the loss of the days of bare-legs until some random warm spring surprise. If you are lucky enough to live in a part of the country where you stretch the days of short skirts and shorts into the dead of winter, this outfit has a universal appeal. Us northerners simply need to suck it up and slip on some tights.
For me, this is one of my favorite shapes to wear, as I love things that are big and slouchy on top (to hide a food baby, and curl up in) but still have some semblance of sex appeal with a flirty leg-baring look. All women in the know get that you have to play to your best features, and that is what I personally love about this silhouette.
I am headed to Florida for the holidays so I will be bare legs and Vitamin D through the weekend, but as beautiful as the holidays are in NYC, I am not going to pretend like I don’t prefer 75 degree winters. I think if you are raised with seasons you get more excited about layering and apple cider and such. I love the leaves and crisp air here, and the food in the fall is dop, not going to lie. But I will always be a bit of a Floridian at heart.
What about you? What’s your favorite season for fashion?
