I had a friend over for dinner last night, and as I eagerly showed off my shoe collection all the ones she liked were one I bought from thrift stores. All high-end designers purchased for a good 80% off their original prices. She said “Don’t you ever shop at boutiques?” And, yes, I do, local shops and smaller designers, sometimes sample sales, but I simply refuse to pay a thousand dollars for designer labels. Furthermore, something about finding an amazing designer piece at a thrift or consignment shop, in your size, in amazing condition, makes the piece a lot more special. So when I found this Tibi dress at Housing Works for $40, it was one of those amazing thrift moments where you thank the shopping gods and whip out your credit card. Though thrifting does take some more work than typical shopping, it is just so worth it. If its not your favorite thing to do, I sincerely encourage you to find a shop and give it a good browse. Its my favorite way to shop!
