Saratoga in Style

Last weekend America’s Best Racing was kind enough to send a giant bus full of the most stylish NYC bloggers up to Saratoga to watch the horse races for the day. I had never been to a horse race before, but if you can’t already tell from my Instagram, I am obsessed with animals of all kinds, and was therefore super excited. Plus, I love nothing more than an excuse to wear a super feminine dress and gab with my girlfriends all day. My fashionable friend Lisa invited me, and we had the awesome company of some bloggers I am sure are already on your Instagram roll. Courtney, Elena, Melanie, Roxy and Daisy rounded off our little crew, and we headed upstate armed with DSLRs and race-appropriate headgear.

When we arrived ABR greeted us with the most fabulous mimosa and Bloody Mary bar as well as a delicious buffet of sweet and savory brunch items. We were treated to a talk by the cutest female jockey and given a little lesson about how to bet. It was not the most straight-forward thing for me, but I must admit I enjoy a good gamble and was eager to get to the track. After some quick photo ops (a blogger must) we headed to the luxury suites by the track. My favorite part of the day was meeting the horses. They are truly amazing, and the power they put into the races is beyond admirable. Plus, they were adorable. And I think they liked me back…(see photos of us cuddling below). I can’t say my betting skills were that great, but I made $3, and I’d call that a success!  If you have the opportunity, there’s no better way to spend an afternoon than with great friends, watching an amazing sport, while sporting an amazing outfit! I’m so glad I got to be a part of the day and can’t wait for our next blogger get together!
