Skyline//Highline

This outfit has been my summer uniform for almost the entire month of August. I am just beyond in love with the European village printed on the maxi skirt, and use any chance I have to wear it. Since today is September 1st, I’d just like to say that the old rule about wearing white after Labor Day has long been out-dated. I plan to wear this skirt well into the fall and beyond. I know with tights it will be a great staple piece in the coming months. I really wanted it to be the focus of the look, so I stuck with simple pieces and some complementing accessories. This has got to be one of my favorite pieces in my closet! What are your all-time favorite wardrobe staples?

I am really in love with these photos. My wonderful friend and photographer Anabella meet me the minute the Highline opened last week in order to capture some beautiful sunlight before crowds started to come. The Highline is one of my favorite places in Manhattan, and if you can get up early enough, it is truly a hundred times better when there aren’t hoards of people on it. Anabella is truly one of the most passionate photographers I have ever met. She’s extremely analytical, and takes a lot of thought and time into how she captures poses, lighting and scenery. I think this series of photos is one of my favorites on the blog, because Anabella just had such a way of making me feel comfortable and capturing my face from the right angles. I have had the pleasure of working with a lot of wonderful photographers since I have started blogging, but I have got to say that Anabella truly has a special touch! See more of her work here on the blog in the coming weeks, (and check us on Instagram at NYFW!) and make sure to “like” her on Facebook here!
