What to Wear to Wonderland

In honor of Milan Fashion Week, I had to shoot my favorite pair of Marni heels (thrifted, of course). Though Swiss-born, Marni is one of my favorite Milan-based brands. I love Italian design quality and aesthetic, and these heels are one of my prized thrifting finds. (Shout out to my friend Terri who is there enjoying the street style now!)

Something that has always amazed me about New York, is that despite how loud it can be, if you find a secluded spot the noise magically dissipates and you easily forget you’re in the middle of a giant city. In these spots you could really be anywhere, here or a thousand miles away. Be it in a tiny secluded pub, a sweet friend’s apartment, or a private community garden, these carefully placed hideaways can be the most special. When my trusty photographer Anabella found this adorable garden we couldn’t resist planning an elaborate photoshoot. Even though I think I got bitten by more bugs that day then when I went hiking earlier this summer (seriously…it was really really bad) these are some of my favorite blog photos of all time. In a little garden covered in chipped tea cups, draped old lace, and spotted with Koi ponds, we forgot where we were and it was utter magic.

Where are your favorite spots to get away from it all?
